A Classy New Look Interior Design

Elaine Charles and I were finally purchasing a home we could call "ours”, the home of our dreams. Minor changes were needed, i.e., wall colors, kitchen aminities, floor coverings, etc. Our contractor assured us a decorator would immediately be assigned, at no additional cost, to actively accomplish the decorating changes. WHAT A DEAL!

My personal time was of the essence with a 40-hour a week work assignment. Although my entire career has been focused on interior decorating to include education, travel, large contractual decorating projects, developmental "show homes" and more, I continued to believe we should not establish our own decorating business UNTIL… Hear the rest of this story!

"The Deal" quickly turned into a nightmare. After purchasing our home we were anxious to finalize the decorating using the decorator assigned to us. Telephone calls back and forth became a real issue. Each week, the only available time the assigned decorator had to work with us was 5:00 A.M. Imagine meeting at 5:00 in the morning! Needless to say, we quit calling and yes, as you may have guessed by now, I decorated our home. The DEAL was not as appealing as we had thought. At this point, my life flashed in an instant, and I knew what I had to do----establish a full-service decorating business to accommodate clients in a trusting, timely fashion.

We launched the full-service decorating services in 1993 called,“A CLASSY NEW LOOK". Our motto was then and will remain " Results Within Your Budget ".
